Word of Encouragement
From the beginning the Body of Christ, the Church, was to be a direct reflection of God. God created man in His image. Man was given the authority to multiply and fill the earth. Man was told to subdue and have dominion over “every living thing that moves on the earth.” God created all things but gave man the authority to subdue and have dominion over them. Man was ordained to operate in the authority of God, but because of the fall of man and man being separated from God by sin, God had to send His only son for man’s reconciliation back to him. Jesus Christ is preeminent in creation. Colossians 1:15-18, “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.”
God desires to use ordinary people to perform extraordinary exploits. From the beginning, God created man to be in fellowship with Him, to honor Him, and to bring honor to Him. We bring honor to God when we radiate His image. When we display the attributes of God, God gets the glory. When we walk in victory and perform the miraculous, we are displaying to the world the very image of our Heavenly Father. It is then that we are obeying the statement of Christ that not only will we do what He did, but we will do “greater works.”
In Biblical times God used His agents, His people to perform miracles and bring Him glory. If you are a born-again believer, if you’ve accepted Christ as your personal Savior, you are one of God’s agents that He wants to use to do the miraculous. God wants to use you – His agent, His child – to release and reveal His glory in the Earth! Will you cooperate with Him to allow His plan for your life to come to fruition?
